I believe in God because it wrote my spiritual story A naïve soft hearted man who lived in a wealthy city and spent all his time helping people distanced himself to a mountainous land. On the way there he kept helping people. He then fell ill and these thoughts came to him: what will I do afterwards? I will go to the top of the mountain and let the vultures eat me; I want no riches of this world; I am coming to help my father; and I can work. He then goes back to the wealthy city and miraculously finds work. He then understands the vultures are the people he attracted and he did not know he was attracting because he was naïve; he wants no riches of this world because he has the virtues of this world; he helps his father die with out suffering in his old age, and he works.

No evidence for anything supernatural. None. All religions require faith to believe in the supernatural which 2024 science has proven impossible. Facts don’t pair well with religious reality. Cheers!

Einstein noted that the direction of light propagation should be changed in a gravitational field, contrary to the Newtonian predictions. However, it must be admitted that our actual knowledge of these laws is only imperfect and fragmentary, so that, actually, the belief in the existence of basic all-embracing laws in nature also rests on a sort of faith. All the same this faith has been largely justified so far by the success of scientific research. But, on the other hand, everyone who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the universe-a spirit vastly superior to that of man, and one in the face of which we with our modest powers must feel humble. In this way the pursuit of science leads to a religious feeling of a special sort, which is indeed quite different from the religiosity of someone more naïve. To make our faith REAL have to reciprocate kindness with child-like faith. It is recorded in Matthew 18:2-4, "He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

At that same hour Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the intelligent and have revealed them to infants (the humble); yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. (Luke10:21)

Both religion and science take a great amount of faith to believe in. While science is correct about many things, the big bang theory is not one of them. The big bang theory has not been 100% proven, and sense we weren't at the beginning of the universe it takes faith to believe the big bang theory happened. In the bibles case, the bible is pure history, and it takes faith that everything that happened in the bible happened. And the bible can be proven just by digging in history, almost the same way to prove science works, just test and see the results. But even though evidence is eveywhere, people deny the proof of gods existence by calling it, "all natural cause", and "nothing big is behind the gears of the universe".

It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. With a deeper understanding we will all arrive at the same conclusion, religion and science are the same thing viewed from two different points. Einstein also didn't believe that the universe was expanding -- a theory now universally accepted in science. It would be inaccurate though to say that Einstein was an atheist. He believed that the universe -- in all its splendor -- was created by God. He just couldn't comprehend how this all powerful force could subject itself to the whims of man. Towards the end of his life, Einstein did express regret about not accepting Edwin Hubble's expanding universe. But God does subject him/herself to the whims of man -- and atheists should be glad that God isn't forcing them to believe in Him/Her. It's not rocket science. A husband wants his wife to love him on her own free will. If a woman doesn't love a man, is the man not as much of a man?

How typical that “supposed” representatives of religious faiths misconstrue Einstein’s statements and virtually attack him. Not very Christ like in my book. Personally I like George Burns’ godly view in the movie Oh, God! “Jesus was my son. Mohammed was my son.” And so on. No culture or race is privileged and superior as the “chosen ones.” Rather we are all subject to enlighten ourselves through loving one another and gaining wisdom and happiness through reverence for god/humanity and separating ourselves from evil acts.. jealous obsession, greed, hate etc. Easy to say, but hard to do. That’s life. It takes courage to be good. Less so to be self serving and vindictive.

I come from the faraway land of 2023 and at the halfway point, as someone who's thinking about the topic of the video a lot, I'm most surprised at the fact that some asshat really wrote Einstein a letter that basically said "you hurt my feelings with your opinion, so much so that I can see why Hitler did it". Truly the words of one who has found the God of peace. Now don't get me wrong, I wouldn't stoop so low as to identify the belief with the believer, that's a mistake all too common these days, when there's a surplus of stupid people who point fingers at each other, claiming the other guy's stupidity shows that their beliefs are wrong, abhorrent and should be eradicated alltogether. But still, it's kind of funny.

Einstein believed in much of Spinoza's view of God who reveals himself in the orderly harmony of what exists, that God encompasses and interpenetrates the universe but at the same time is greater than the universe. Believed God exists as a mind or a spirit. That God is both transcendent and immanent (inherent; within) is a major tenet of both Christianity and Judaism. Einstein was - like Newton before him - deeply religious in his own way and a firm believer in a transcendent God, a Supreme Being. Einstein said, “I want to know how God created this world. I want to know his thoughts. My religiosity consists of a humble admiration of the infinitely superior spirit, …That superior reasoning power forms my idea of God.”
